Queensland Samoa win Women’s Nines title

Queensland Samoa have defeated Apia Maroon to win the inaugural Vailima Marist Nines held at ACP Stadium in Lotopa, Apia on the weekend.

In a tight encounter between the two teams, the visitors from Australia defeated a gutsy Apia team 14 – 12.

The Marist Nines was one of a series of nine-a-side tournaments established by Rugby League Samoa in preparations for the upcoming Pacific Games in Apia.

RESULTS:
Barbarian 12 – 8 Papauta Girls College
Apia Maroons 18 – 0 Barbarians
Queensland Samoa – Apia Maroons
Queensland Samoa 28 – 0 Papauta Girls College

3rd Place Play-Off:
Barbarians 34 – 0 Papauta Girls College

Final:
Queensland Samoa 14 – 12 Apia Maroon
