Athenas Itanhaém win inagural Brazilian Women’s Nines

Escolinha de Rugby League Athenas Itanhaém are the inaugural Confederação Brasileira de Rugby League National Women’s Nines Champions after finishing with a superior for and against Tatuapé Rugby League at the Brazil Rugby League Festival held over the weekend.

Based out of the municipality of Itanhaém in São Paulo, the Athenas club played a two match series against the Tatuapé club to decide the National Champions.

In the opening match, the two teams fought for an 8 – all draw, before Athenas won the second match 14 – 0.
