Nomades and Ngen Mapu progress to Antofagasta Final

The Antofagasta Nomades are set to play Ngen Mapu in the inaugural Antofagasta Rugby League Championship following their respective wins over the weekend.

The Nomades, one of the foundation teams in Antofagasta, defeated the Leftraru Warriors to secure the opportunity to win the Federación de Rugby League Futbol 13 Chile Northern title, whilst the Ngen Mapu defeated the Antofagasta Torros in their respective Semi Final.

The last time these two teams met, the Nomades emerged 16 – 10 victors over Ngen Mapu.

The Antofagasta Rugby League currently boasts eight clubs in and around the northern port town.

The best players from the Antofagasta Championship will be selected to play in a North v South Representative clash later this year in the lead up to the Federación de Rugby League Futbol 13 Chile selecting the Chilean National team for the Rugby League World Cup Qualifiers.
